Trinity's Worship Styles and Settings
9:00 am Contemporary
Worship
|
Our contemporary service is of an informal style. The praise band
leads you in several Praise songs - there is time for meditation, prayer
and a message from our pastor. This service is currently held in Luther
Hall but will soon move into the main sanctuary. Communion is offered on
the first Sunday of each month. |
10:30 am Traditional Worship |
Our traditional service uses settings from three different sources
and rotates them on a three to six month cycle. Communion is
offered every Sunday unless there is a baptism.
- With One Voice has been
offered since 1995 and contains a variety of musical styles.
- Now the Feast and Celebration
composed by Marty Haugen is based on the Lutheran communion service
and is widely used by many Lutheran congregations.
- Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW)
- published in 2006 by the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America (ELCA). This new hymnal replaces the LBW or green
book which had been the primary worship resource since 1978.
The ELW has eleven liturgical settings to choose from, a daily
lectionary, the entire Small Catechism, and many other special
services. It contains old familiar material and new innovative
material and hymns.

| Holy Communion
 |
As Jesus gathered with his disciples for the Last
Supper, he spoke, "This is my body given for you . . .This is my blood,
shed for you . . . eat and drink, in remembrance of me."Holy Communion is offered at Trinity to all baptized people
who believe that Christ is present in the bread and wine.
When directed, you may come forward to the Lord's Table to receive
the communion wafer and wine. The wine is distributed in small
individual cups or by intinction (dipping the wafer into
the wine chalice).

| Baptism
 |
Baptism, whether for a child or adult, is the visible sign
of being accepted as a child of God, a member of his family, forever.
